The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director of Third-Party Risk Management, the Senior Third-Party Risk Management Analyst is responsible for supporting enterprise goals and strategic initiatives by managing day-to-day activities to help maintain a comprehensive third-party risk management (TPRM) program. The scope of the program will include all types of third parties including payment facilitators, referral relationships, traditional vendor relationships and others.

Specifically, the Sr. Third-Party Risk Management Analyst will assist various business units by serving in a second line of defense role and facilitating the new third-party onboarding due diligence and existing third-party periodic review processes. The Sr. Third-Party Risk Analyst will assist the business in executing key aspects of the program including initial and ongoing oversight of key third parties and will also serve as a point of contact during the execution of controls performed by other departments within the organization. This role will have visibility throughout the organization and will be responsible for reporting to management and executive leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison to MerchantE personal across the organization, providing "white glove" service assisting with the business’s responsibilities for new and existing third-party oversight tasks.
  • Establish and maintain healthy relationships with key stakeholders including internal partners and external partners such as third parties, card brands, and sponsor bank representatives; serve as a liaison and point of escalation for third party risk related items as needed.
  • Provide effective challenge during initial due diligence assessments and ongoing monitoring efforts including monthly review cadences and annual reviews.
  • Assist the director with the development and delivery of ongoing reporting to internal and external stakeholders related to program performance and third-party related risk levels.
  • Guide MerchantE and external personal through assessment reviews for newly engaged vendors, identify and escalate risk concerns to the program director, and support ongoing vendor performance reviews as a risk subject matter professional.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A solid understanding and demonstrated knowledge of risk and control concepts as they apply to third party risk management leading practices, including:
    • The various risks categories typically impacting the utilization of third parties, and
    • Management and oversight of third-party risk management across the various phases of the third-party lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience with TPRM programs or TPRM modules of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) platforms - preferably experience with COUPA Risk Assess.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and the willingness and desire to provide guidance and assistance to those unfamiliar with TPRM fundamentals.
  • Program management skills including attention to detail and ability to course correct as needed to ensure outcomes are achieved.
  • Motivated self-starter who operates with an ownership mindset and takes responsibility and accountability for the success of the department and organization as a whole.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an ability to translate minutiae into a broader business perspective and determine appropriate responses based on risk level, impact, and likelihood.
  • Organized and adept at multi-tasking and adapting to evolving priorities.
  • Flexible, intellectually curious, creative thinker with the ability to connect dots, define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions, and manage uncertainty.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with presence and the ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to the business, external stakeholders, peers, and team members.

  • Proficiency in Excel and report building.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Working knowledge of the payments industry and, specifically, the role of payment facilitators within the industry is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, or industry-related field preferred
  • At least 5 years of industry-related and/or subject matter experience
  • Prior experience working in a third-party risk management role
