Tell us about your journey at MerchantE.

I joined the company on December 3rd, 2014 as a part-time customer care rep, with zero background in payments. I am so glad that I came in when I did, because I got to experience how to program hardware using some of the older, now obsolete terminals and pocket old school tricks that you couldn’t find in that thick binder of printed instructions. (Shout-out to my girl, Trishell, who I was so fortunate to have as my trainer – and who probably could program a Tranz 330 and T7 Plus at the same time, blindfolded and with her hands tied.) I also came in at a very exciting time for the company as we were in the process of launching EMV and putting into plan how we would rise up to the explosion of digital wallets with the emergence of Apple Pay and Google Pay. Saying that I learned a lot in my first year is an understatement. I was soon conducting merchant activations and training, and I also earned a few extra bucks along the way leading several B2B campaigns for Discover.

Not long after I decided to go full-time, about a year and a half later, I was given the opportunity to move up in the Care department, helping to manage the floor, assist with quality & assurance, create and later transitioned to partner management, where I had the privilege to implement new processes, etc. I really get to know our partners in the FI space and help them stay abreast of our ever changing world of payments.

I currently head the FI Sales Channel that is focused on partnership development and growth. Among the many things I get to do, I get to work with and learn from so many phenomenal women across our organization that don’t hesitate to drop my name in a room full of opportunities. (Yeah, I see you, Cassie!)

How would you describe the work environment?

We have a fun and empowering work environment here at MerchantE. Mike Rouse and our leadership team have done an amazing job bringing in the right people and administering a new organizational structure that makes complete sense. Looking back over the years, it is exactly what we needed to really function with stability and efficiency. Yes, there is still work to do and adjustments to make. We have a work environment where every person is respected, valued, and has the same opportunity for growth.

What excites you the most about the future at MerchantE?

The people. I cannot wait to see what our next accomplishments will be.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I am an introvert.

Tell us about your journey at MerchantE.

I joined MerchantE in 2018 when I moved back to Atlanta and have had the opportunity to work in the Sales department in various capacities over the past three years. It has been extremely rewarding and intellectually stimulating to have the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams internally and our partners externally to grow our business and optimize our products and services.

How would you describe the work environment?

MerchantE values the people that go above and beyond and thinks holistically about our role in the industry, our service level that we offer, and the performance of our business. The environment breeds success by empowering people to identify opportunities to improve and taking the initiative to address them proactively and holding each other accountable for making tomorrow better than today.

What excites you the most about the future at MerchantE?

MerchantE is not afraid to make changes and focus on improving in every capacity. This focus on excellence and versatility to adapt to the needs of our partners is energizing and makes me want to come to work, ready to contribute, and excited to help the team win!

What would people be surprised to know about you?

Many people may not know that I have an 11 year old (soon to be 12) son who plays competitive baseball, and I am constantly working to ensure that both he and MerchantE get the very best of me every day.

I’m happiest when I complete a 3-5 mile run on the beltline in Atlanta or sitting on my front porch with friends and family!

Tell us about your journey at MerchantE.

When I first started at ME, I never imagined all the opportunities that would be presented to me. I started in the sales organization at an entry level role which led to my current position within the Sales Enablement team. Each role change and every project has helped me build my knowledge and develop my skills. Particularly, having women in leadership roles as mentors has helped me navigate my career at ME.

How would you describe the work environment?

Collaborative, empowering, and a great culture.

What excites you the most about the future at MerchantE?

The people, culture, and endless opportunities! With any growing company comes challenges, but also a lot of positive impact as well.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I grew up in Scotland where I was taught English in a Scottish accent (no, I can’t speak in a Scottish accent anymore).
